Turning Smart Budgeting Into Award-Winning Design: Center City Courtyard Earns Fuse Spark Recognition

GP Flooring is proud to announce that our work on the Center City Courtyard project has been recognized with the Fuse Spark Award for “Most Maximized Budget.” This award highlights projects that demonstrate exceptional value engineering—maximizing results while making the most of every project dollar.

The Center City Courtyard project is a strong example of how thoughtful planning and strategic material selection can deliver both high performance and elevated design without exceeding budget constraints.

A Strategic Approach to Flooring Design

From the outset, the goal was clear: create a cohesive, visually engaging environment while ensuring long-term durability and cost efficiency. To achieve this, our team implemented a hybrid flooring strategy that prioritized investment where it would deliver the greatest functional return.

Standard luxury vinyl tile (LVT) was installed directly over concrete subfloors in many areas, while a premium LVT with acoustical backing was used in targeted spaces to reduce sound transmission. This approach allowed for enhanced performance where it mattered most—without increasing overall project costs.

Balancing Performance, Acoustics, and Aesthetics

Beyond LVT, a mix of materials was carefully selected to meet the demands of each space:

  • J&J Kinetex flooring was used in corridors, introducing a vibrant pattern that adds movement and energy to high-traffic areas.

  • Daltile ceramic tile was installed in restrooms and other demanding environments to ensure long-term durability.

  • Polished concrete and Roppe wall base and stair treads provided a clean, modern finish throughout the space.

Each material played a specific role in enhancing the overall performance and longevity of the project while maintaining a cohesive design.

Maximizing Value Without Compromise

The result is a thoughtfully executed flooring solution that balances durability, sound mitigation, and visual appeal—all while staying true to the project’s budget. By aligning design decisions with functional priorities, the Center City Courtyard project demonstrates how value engineering can elevate—not limit—the final outcome.

Recognizing Leadership and Team Impact

In addition to the project award, Abby and Josh Reinhard were honored with the Fuse Spirit Award, recognizing their leadership and ongoing contributions to the Fuse community.

This recognition reflects the strength of our team, our partners, and our commitment to delivering high-quality results through smart, strategic decision-making.
